Examination of propulsion line components

Examination of propulsion line components

We thoroughly verify all essential components of the propulsion line, ensuring they operate with the clearances, alignment, and precision required for safe and efficient performance.

Examination of bearings, stern tube seals, and supply

We examinate the condition of the support and stern tube bearings, checking their wear and performance, carrying out the maintenance recommended by the manufacturer and replacing them when necessary. Likewise, we assess the stern tube seals by verifying their watertight integrity and level of deterioration, performing the corresponding preventive maintenance or replacement when conditions require it, thereby ensuring the protection and proper operation of the shaft line.

Shaft struts/brackets: examination, repair, or supply

We check the structural condition and alignment of the shaft struts. When they show deformations or damage, we repair them through straightening or welding. If the component cannot recover, we replace it. To ensure the right geometry of the set, we carry out the verification of the alignment of shaft struts and horn through laser or Wire Line.

Rudders: examination, repair or supply

We verify the rudders by verifying their straightness, their general condition and the clearances associated to the system. When required, we carry out repairs through controlled straightening or welding, and replace bearings and affected components in accordance with the manufacturer’s guidelines.

Examination and supply of silent blocks thrust bearings

We assess the condition of the silent blocks and thrust bearings, which are key components for vibration absorption and axial support of the propulsion line. In the event of wear or loss of performance, we carry out the necessary maintenance on the thrust bearings or when this is not possible replace them with new units to ensure correct load transmission and operational comfort of the vessel, both for thrust bearings and silent blocks.
